Belly Piercing Udhele

Belly piercing is done near the navel. Since it involves piercing a flat area of the skin, it is considered a surface type of piercing. The standard belly piercing is usually done by inserting a barbell which is curved the skin immediately underneath the navel. People can then wear ornaments on the barbell and permit it to dangle over the navel. Belly piercing has become very popular recently. Here is some basic belly piercing information.

The Belly Piercing Procedure

A belly piercing is very easy to perform and doesn't have many complications. In addition, this type of piercing heals more comfortably than other types of body piercings. You can do the piercing yourself or have it done by a professional. The professional will follow a standard technique with little modification. You can follow this standard procedure in the comfort of your home to get your navel pierced.

Belly piercing begins with a cleanup up of the area. Typically, a surgical scrub is used to clean the skin surrounding the navel and the navel itself. After the area has been thoroughly cleaned, use a surgical pen and ink to mark two locations. These locations can be on either side, below, or above the navel. The two locations should mark the exact location where you want the piercing.

Next, hold the skin that is covering the marked points tight with a clamp. Then pull the skin that is clamped somewhat away from the body. This step needs to be done carefully because any slippage of the skin will disturb the location of the piercing. Using a needle that has been sterilized align it at a right angle with the clamped skin and push the needle through the skin. You will feel some pain but be courageous and put the jewelry into the pierced skin immediately. Wipe any the blood off with a cotton ball if it is bleeding. Apply some type of lotion that is antiseptic to prevent the infection in the piercing.

Belly Piercing Aftercare

The piercing may produce a discharge which is off white or white in color and sticky. The discharge may dry up and crust over the piercing and on the jewelry. This problem of discharge is very routine and usually there in the beginning. In order to prevent the condition from becoming more serious, you should take proper care of the navel piercing from the beginning. However, this type of piercing is extremely safe and infections are rare.
